Dam of filly MWANZA (by WRADAR), owned by the Bitterroot Ranch, Wyoming,
and colt DUCCATI (by GUAPO CHICO), owned by distance rider Kerry Redente, Colorado.

WASAABI is sired by *S S ORION, is granddaughter of FAKETEKO (both bred by Marquesa de Laula) and great grandaughter of ZACATECO, (Yeguada Militar of Spain). Both FAKETEKO and ZACATECO have been voted World Horse Organization (WAHO) “Horse of the Year” for Spain, 2005 & 2007.

*S S ORION (FAKETEKO x DAIKIRI by MIKADO), 1993 Chestnut stallion, bred by Yeguada Flor de lis (Princesa Teresa de Borbon, Marquesa de Laula) was imported to the US by Stanley Ranch and has produced Champions in Hunters, Jumpers, Dressage, Sport Horse under Saddle, Sport Horse in-hand, Distance Riding and Endurance Racing.

ORION is the only first generation stallion in the USA of Princess Teresa’s breeding.

See more information on *S S ORION here.

Princess Teresa’s farm is famous in Spain as producer of classically beautiful Arabians that are outstanding Sport Horses. They compete successfully in Jumping, Dressage, Distance Riding, and Yeguada Flor de lis has produced many Supreme Spanish Champions in-hand, stallions and mares, some scoring 20’s for movement.

WASAABI’s dam is *GALAXIA SSB +/ (NEGAL x KADOFA), 1984 Grey mare bred by Stanley Ranch in Spain. *GALAXIA was imported (see Importations on the Spanish Arabians page) and shown to Canadian National Champion Working Hunter and Top Ten Show Hack.

*GALAXIA was ridden several seasons by Molly Stanley in the hunt field and has been awarded her Certificate as a Recognized Field Hunter with Los Altos Hounds.

See more information on *GALAXIA here.

NEGAL (GALERO x NEBLINA by GARBO), 1977 Grey Stallion, bred by d. Luis Domecq. Grandsire of WASAABI, influential in phenotype of neck produced by WASAABI.
Negal

The GARBO-GALERO cross in Spain has consistently been a ‘Golden Cross’. When we did the ‘Anatomical Proportional Ratios’ (33 body ratios in horses) for the Arabian Horse Legacy, we found that NEGAL’s neck was the longest of any of the Stanley stallions at that time.

This is an interestingly strong heritage in phenotype passed on to NEGAL’s daughter *GALAXIA, and to both *GALAXIA’s offspring, son PICAZZO (x *ESPERANTO), and daughter WASAABI (x *S S ORION). WASAABI has again produced that long neck into the next generation, as you see in WASAABI’s son DUCCATI (x GUAPO CHICO).

PICAZZO DUCATTI

This is one outstanding classical Spanish broodmare by *S S ORION (bred by Yeguada Flor de lis, Princesa Teresa de BorbonMadridSpain), and from a Canadian National CH (Working Hunter) dam.*GALAXIA also showed successfully in Dressage.

SCID Clear, Ca N/N

DAIKIRI (MIKADO x POLKA by SAUCIDIR), 1984 Chestnut Mare.Extreme beauty from both her sire MIKADO, Spanish National Champion Get of Sire, and her dam POLKA, Supreme Champion mare of Spain.

GALERO (ZANCUDO x ZALEMA by CONGO) 1965 Grey YM stallion, sire of many Arabians imported to the USA during the 70’s and 80’s.Sire of *AN MALIK.

KADOFA (ZANCUDO x OCALINA), 1969 Chestnut YM mare.Four daughters of KADOFA, by different Spanish Arabian sires, were imported to the USA.All four were Regional Champions, and 3 went on to be US and Canadian National Champions in Working Hunter, Jumper, Hunter under Saddle, and Hunt Seat Equitation, *GALAXIA SSB, *IBERIA, *EFIGIE and *JEZABEL SSB +//.This bloodline is clearly strong for producing top athletic horses.
OCALINA (SIRIO IV x FARINA), 1951 Chestnut YM mare.Dam of KADOFA.OCALINA was of the Duque de Veragua’s breeding, and was famous at the Yeguada Militar for having produced 17 foals in her lifetime. The tail female line goes to KADRANKA, foundation mare foaled in 1903, imported from Poland by the YM. This is a female line renowned for many generations as good producers of many offspring, and having an excellent work ethic.

*S S ORION, sire of WASAABI, has competed successfully in Dressage through Training, First, Second and Third Level, and is Region III Third Level Musical Free Style Champion (2008). ORION is also a Regional and US National winner in Working Hunters, Jumpers and Hunter Hack.
ORION’s grandsire, WAHO Trophy winner for Spain 2005 was ZACATECO (JACIO x BALDOSA), YM stallion. In 2006 the WAHO trophy was awarded to FIOLEK, (ZACATECO x RIJEKA), bred by Princesa Teresa de Borbon (Marquesa de Laula, Yeguada Flor de lis), and in 2007 the WAHO trophy was awarded to ORION’s sire FAKETEKO (ZACATECO x DAIKIRI), another Marquesa de Laula bred stallion. Therefore, you see that ORION’s male line has dominated the ‘best horse in Spain’ category for many years, and recently.
