A note on EXODUS I + //

EXODUS has been a High Score winner, in several Associations, every year starting with his first show season, which is now more than a decade ago.  The 'Accomplishment' section on EXODUS in the AHA DataSource runs seven pages long, and includes his numerous US National Championship awards

At age nineteen, EXODUS is moving up to Second level Dressage, and will compete at First and Second Level in 2008.  He is sound, and loves his work, and second only to his mares, he particularly loves the show ring.   Molly and Lisa say that as long as he loves it, they will love to show him.  EXODUS I +// is an ideal show ring partner, talented and responsive.

EXODUS has won in the Hunter, Jumper, Dressage, Sport Horse in-hand and under saddle disciplines.  Trainer Michelle Mahoney says he is one of the most talented horses she has ever ridden.

Three generations (Molly, daughter Lisa, granddaughter Courtney) rode EXODUS I +// at the Sport Horse Nationals 2006, to Top Ten wins in Sport Horse under Saddle (largest class of the show with 70 entries), Arabian Working Hunter AAOTR, and Hunter Hack AAOTR.

Notes of interest to Spanish Breeders:

*PADRE(GARBO x YUCA) and AL JAUF (GALERO x FREILA), both Spanish Supreme National Champion Stallions and producers of Spanish Supreme National Champion Stallions, are the grandsires of EXODUS I +//.

*PADRE's tail female line is through his dam YUCA (producer of 8 National Champions in various countries, as well as Nation's Cup Champions), to the YBARRA root female GOMARA.

AL JAUF (GALERO x FREILA) also traces in tail female through ACACIA (CORINTO x YUCA) to GOMARA.

*AVILA (DANDI II x *OCHAVA), EXODUS' granddam, won many outstanding Halter Mare titles in her show years. At the age of two, *AVILA was named Region 12 Reserve Champion Mare (to Rohara Tsultress), and at the age of 4, having just weaned EL DORADO, the sire of EXODUS I +//, *AVILA was shown at the U.S. Nationals by Stanley White Sr. to National Top Twenty Mare.

*AVILA has produced offspring for Royal Oaks Farm who have assured her legacy in the USA.  In Belguim the *AVILA son DIPLOMATT (x SIMEON SHAI) , is a bright red chestnut stallion very similar in phenotype to his nephew EXODUS I +//.  DIPLOMATT has been  Belgian National Champion Stallion, and has produced a filly who was Belgian Junior Champion filly 2000.

CANTINERA II (MALVITO x URAL), granddam in tail female to *AVILA was a Spanish Military mare, always known to the Spanish breeders as 'the Queen of Spain'.  CANTINERA II produced six daughters to ZANCUDO, two of them owned by the Stanleys, *OCHAVA and LAYETANA.  *OCHAVA produced many important offspring in the USA.  The Military in Spain then bred CANTINERA II to GARBO (ORIVE x BALDOSA), and  produced three sons, PALMA REAL, SABLE, and UVAL, all of whom have been important Military stallions.  CANTINERA II was sold in a Military auction at age 20, purchased by the Stanleys, who at the advice of WAHO pedigree expert Pesi Gadzer, bred CANTINERA to MARMOL (TABAL x JABEGA).  This mating produced CANTINERA's most look alike son, *ESPERANTO.   This stallion was imported to the USA at the age of one year, and has numerous offspring.

EXODUS' tail female line is to the famous OCALINA (SIRIO IV X FARINA), who by my count in the Spanish Stud Book, produced 21 offspring during her life.  The ones whose names might be familiar are: ZARZA (x CONGO), BAMBU (x TABAL), FAMELA, GARPA, HACA, IABA (x MAQUILLO), JABALPHUR, KADOFA, LADRONA, (x ZANCUDO), PALMERA, RABIOSA , SARGENTO (x GARBO).

EXODUS pedigree reads like a Who's Who of Spanish Arabians - great grandsires GARBO, DANDI II, GALERO, ZANCUDO.  It is a tribute to EXODUS that his great granddams are also famous, YUCA, *OCHAVA, FREILA and OCALINA.

See photos of many of these ancestors.
