For the sport horse enthusiast - U LA LA was sired by PICAZZO, who was Spanish Futurity Champion and Sport Horse Champion Stallion.  In his first horse show under saddle, Scottsdale 1999, he was Top Ten Hunter Pleasure Champion.  PICAZZO stood an honest 16 hands and was a beautiful mover with nearly flawless conformation.

The dam of U LA LA is ISABELLA I, (here at the ranch) Lisa Stapleton’s favorite hunt mare.  ISABELLA has gone out hunting with both Molly and Lisa any season she has not been on maternity leave.  ISABELLA I has been awarded her Certificate as a Recognized Field Hunter, is a Hunter Pleasure Champion, a Champion Sport Horse in-hand mare, and is dam of 2002 National Champion SARASATE.

The sire of U LA LA’s dam is *PADRE, Supreme Champion Halter Stallion of Spain, and sire, grand sire and great grand sire of Spanish Supreme Champion stallions, as well as many halter and performance Champions in the USA.

Grand dam *DISCOTECA+/ was 1997 U. S. National Champion Jumper and also National Champion AAOTR Working Hunter, (winner in all three rounds) the first horse to win both titles in the same year.  *DISCOTECA+/ has been a Hunter Pleasure Champion, a Recognized Field Hunter, and a Sport Horse in-hand Champion mare many time, in her teens.

On the top line of her pedigree, U LA LA’s grandsire *ESPERANTO (imported from Spain) was high score halter stallion for the State of Wisconsin in 1989, when on lease to Ken Bevry.  *ESPERANTO also won numerous English Pleasure classes with Ken Jr.  At the first Arabian Sport Horse Show, June 1996, *ESPERANTO won the Get of Sire.

U La La’s grand dam *GALAXIA SSB, (here at the ranch) was Canadian National Champion Working Hunter and Top Ten Show Hack in 1992.  Molly is planning to show *GALAXIA at the first Sport Horse Nationals in 2003.

Not surprisingly, U LA LA shows great potential as a show horse, in several areas, both over fences and in dressage.  This bay beauty has been well started under saddle and is ready for you to try. She could make a good reining horse just as well as a jumper.  U LA LA can win for you, as well as being an outstanding brood mare.

Notes of interest to Spanish breeders:

Most breeders agree that the tail female line, which is the dam line on the bottom of the pedigree, is the most important and influential line in the entire pedigree.  On U LA LA’s pedigree, that tail female line descends through her dam, National Champion producing ISABELLA I (*PADRE X *DISCOTECA+/), to her grand dam, National Champion *DISCOTECA+/ (HABON II X SABA), to her great-great grand dam *JALEA III (ZANCUDO X ULTRA), dam of JALEA’S ET. 

*DISCOTECA+/ (HABON II X SABA), was produced in Spain by the Stanleys.  Discotheques were hot in Spain then, and this red filly was really a dancer.  Since then she has shown herself to be a jumper with true scope.  *DISCOTECA+/ has proven time and again that she could ‘jump the moon’ in open and National competition.  Studies have shown that jumping ability is 50% heritable, and U LA LA surely shows that ability.

*ESPERANTO (MARMOL X CANTINERA II), is the only son outside Spain of the fabulous Military mare CANTINERA II (MALVITO X URAL), a mare that don Luis Domecq called “The Queen of Spain”. The Stanleys purchased Cantinera II, age 20, at the Spanish Military auction.  Her last foal, *ESPERANTO, was foaled at the Stanley Stud in Spain.  CANTINERA’s other sons, PALMA REAL, SABLE and UVAL only stood at the Spanish Military State Stud.

*GALAXIA (NEGAL X NOMBELA), bred at the Stanley stud in Spain, was by NEGAL (GALERO X NEBLINA), and out of the marvelous KADOFA (ZANCUDO X OCALINA). The daughters of KADOFA bred and imported by the Stanleys are National Champion *GALAXIA, (X NEGAL), National Champion *IBERIA, (X GEB EL TARIK), National Champion *JEZABEL+//, 
(X *DIAMANTE), and Regional champion *EFIGIE (X MARMOL). 

*PADRE (GARBO X YUCA),  called EL SAUCEJO in Spain, needs no introduction to Spanish Arabian breeders.  Supreme Champion of Spain and sire of 120, *PADRE has offspring in Spain, the UK, and the USA.  his sire GARBO (ORIVE X BALDOSA), was one of the ‘big three’ breeding stallions of the Yeguada Militar of the 70’s and 80’s, along with GALERO and JACIO.  GARBO was noted for the strong bodies, short backs, well shaped necks and also the minds and work ethic he consistently gave his offspring. 

*PADRE’s dam YUCA (FABULOSO X FIFINELLA) is a very important mare and must be mentioned, not only for her champion produce (8 National and Supreme Champions and winners of the Nations Cup), but also as a grand daughter of the YBARRA root female GOMARA (ALFANJE X BABILONIA).
